1993 Divergent League GameDay – 1/17/21

Notes: I’ve updated some URLs on the site, so there may be some 404s. I’ll fix them as I see ’em. I’ve updated the Week 1 Update post to include team power rankings, too! Expect these to be added to the podcast and the weekly posts.

Divergent League’s first set of Sunday Afternoon games starts off with an inter-family rivalry: Phil’s Mets .vs. Chuck’s Expos. Who will win this battle for Nelson Baseball Supremacy? Only time will tell. (Update: The Expos smashed the Mets, 6-0)

1993 Divergent League Baseball Update – Week 1

Howdy folks, it’s your commish here, with our first Divergent League Update for the 1993 Season. You can listen to this update here or subscribe to the feed:

Steve Finley leads the AL in dingers with 5 in just 8 games. Barry Bonds sits atop the NL with 4. Mark McGwire, Pete Incavilia and Barry Bonds are all tied for the lead in RBIs at 10. Rod Beck and Gregg Olson share the honors for most Saves with 5 so far. Andy Benes and David Cone take the top spots for Ks with at 21 for Benes and 19 for Cone.

On to the injury beat, so far everybody’s safe as houses. Let’s hope it stays that way.

1993 Divergent League Baseball Opening Day

This weekend saw the Divergent League Baseball draft, where owners were introduced and formally selected teams and players. The final results are as follows:

There was some team-swapping over the event. Through negotiation the Expos, Tigers, and Blue Jays switched owners to the ones listed above.
